COMPANY BACKGROUND
Based in Massachusetts, SOLIDFX LLC focuses on
solving problems for people who
handle large amounts of data. Our flagship product, MediaEngine, is a
customizable software component that simplifies the development of
digital media asset management and sharing applications. When used
as a digital photo database, it enables access to photos quickly and
easily. MediaEngine was integrated into the photo organization software
of a leading photography company and the application has over 20

targeting other applications where people need to organize and display
data.
LEADERSHIP
Dona Flamme has more than
20 years of senior management experience with high growth technology
companies. Previously she founded Sky Shore, a management consulting
firm focused on helping clients successfully grow their businesses
through business model innovation, strategy implementation, and change
management. Prior to Sky Shore, Dona held several senior management
positions at Eastman Kodak Company including General Manager, OLED
Products and Vice President, Display where she was responsible for
bringing the emerging OLED display technology to market. Dona received her MBA
from Stanford University as well as a Bachelors of Arts &
Science in Electrical Engineering and Economics.
Jeff McDonald is a successful
entrepreneur who is known for his forward-looking vision and skill in
software performance optimization. He founded SOLIDFX to pursue his
ideas in data organization and sharing. Prior to SOLIDFX, Jeff led the
high performance application engineering team for Silicon Graphics’
Advanced Systems Division. His team delivered high performance,
parallel, differentiated ports of 3rd party application
software. His visionary thinking led to the OpenMP specification which
is now an industry standard in parallel and multicore computing. He
also led Silicon Graphics’ operating system performance group. Earlier
in his career, Jeff worked for NASA Ames Research Center developing
simulation algorithms suited to vector & parallel computer
architectures. He holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Computer Science from
Stanford University as well as a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the
University of Toronto.
